Why is my internet connection slower than normal?

You may occasionally see slower speeds than normal if there is a particular load on your carrier’s network at the mast in your location.

The document below is an easy to follow workflow guide to perform the first line checks to determine whether there is an issue locally with your hardware or if it’s an issue at the carrier level.

Troubleshoot Guide:

  1. Check on your carrier’s website to see if there happens to be any known issues in your local postcode area. Generally, the unit is connected to a mast in a similar postcode.
  2. If there aren’t any known issues, power off the SimRush hardware by disconnecting the power lead.
  3. Leave it off for 10 minutes.
  4. Power back on and see if speeds have improved.

Extra tip:

If you are still using the older CAT4 version of the ODU we can upgrade you to our newer version of the ODU with CAT6 modems. The difference is carrier aggregation and the increase in speed if the transmitter has a second carrier signal available is dramatic, potentially doubling the download speeds or more.

Please contact us if you are interested in upgrading to our newer ODU if you haven’t already.
